Hair How To: Bleach Babe!

Have you ever wanted to have gorgeous blonde locks, but don't want to pay salon prices to get there? I've been bleaching my hair for years, with great results, so now its time to pass on my bleach babe knowledge to you, enjoy!

Step 1. Before you even begin to think about bleaching you hair, make sure your hair is in very good condition, damaged hair is very prone to breaking off during the bleaching process

Step 2. Buy your hair bleaching goodies:  Bleach Powder: Check out your local beauty supply store or do some research online to find a bleach powder that will work well with your hair, I use L'Oreal Quick Blue, it comes in small packets and larger containers, I opt for the 2 small packets because I'm usually just touching up the roots, or bleaching medium sized sections

Creme Developer: If your hair is fairly light to start with a level 20 might be able to do the trick, but personally i choose a level 30 creme developer, keep in mind my hair is naturally jet black. In my experience a level 40 will do the same thing as a level 30 but with much more damage

Disposable Gloves: There have been times in the beginning where I just didn't feel like buying gloves, but boy did I regret that, the bleach mixture will really do damage to your skin if your not protected, that being said, I wouldn't skip this item.

Step 3. Mix it up: Follow the steps on your bleach powder instructions, or simply follow the 2 to 1 ratio, 2 parts creme developer, to 1 part bleach powder

Step 4. Apply that bad boy: Start applying the mixture, about 2 inches away from the scalp and continue down to the ends of you hair, you wanna keep it away from the scalp because the heat from your heat from your head will lift the color faster

Step 5. Almost finished: About 10 minutes before your hair has lifted the the desired color, apply the bleach mixture close to the scalp, be warned this will sting a bit, now just wait for your hair to lift to the shade of your liking.

Step 6: Wash that gorgeous hair: Wash the bleach out well, your hair will be fairly fragile at this point, so make sure to use a gentle shampoo, and deep conditioner, my favorites are Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair shampoo and conditioner, after a few deep conditioning treatments, your hair will be good as new

Step 7: Work it girl: That's right get out there and show off your bombshell bleach blonde hair
