Weight Loss: Where Am I?

I said before in a previous post that I've been losing weight for a little over a year and a half now. How much weight have I lost you might wonder? Well... since January 2010 I have lost 71 pounds! I didn't go to fancy gyms or buy gimmicky pills, or prepackaged foods, I did it the right way I counted calories and worked my tush off. Sadly I didn't have a lot of support from the people in my life, but the support from one very amazing person was more than I could ask for, without them I wouldn't have gotten this far, I am truly grateful to have them, I still have about 25 pounds to go and I'll be sure to update along the way... Enjoy Dolls!

Thrifty Babe Tips: Before You Shop!

Have you ever had those days where you felt like you just needed to get to the store and buy new makeup,  just for a cheap thrill? Let me tell you I've been there, but over time i noticed that my spur of the moment spend, left me with products that I really didn't end up using or even liking. Sure it may seem like a couple bucks here and there but it adds up. A great way to save some cash is to do a little research before you hit the shops, check some product reviews on youtube, or read some reviews on Makeupalley, the more you know about a product the more likely you are to decide whether its the right product for you, plus some online product research helps curb the cravings for new makeup in a pinch, :) happy shopping you thrifty babes!

Hair How To: Bleach Babe!

Have you ever wanted to have gorgeous blonde locks, but don't want to pay salon prices to get there? I've been bleaching my hair for years, with great results, so now its time to pass on my bleach babe knowledge to you, enjoy!

Step 1. Before you even begin to think about bleaching you hair, make sure your hair is in very good condition, damaged hair is very prone to breaking off during the bleaching process

Step 2. Buy your hair bleaching goodies:  Bleach Powder: Check out your local beauty supply store or do some research online to find a bleach powder that will work well with your hair, I use L'Oreal Quick Blue, it comes in small packets and larger containers, I opt for the 2 small packets because I'm usually just touching up the roots, or bleaching medium sized sections

Creme Developer: If your hair is fairly light to start with a level 20 might be able to do the trick, but personally i choose a level 30 creme developer, keep in mind my hair is naturally jet black. In my experience a level 40 will do the same thing as a level 30 but with much more damage

Disposable Gloves: There have been times in the beginning where I just didn't feel like buying gloves, but boy did I regret that, the bleach mixture will really do damage to your skin if your not protected, that being said, I wouldn't skip this item.

Step 3. Mix it up: Follow the steps on your bleach powder instructions, or simply follow the 2 to 1 ratio, 2 parts creme developer, to 1 part bleach powder

Step 4. Apply that bad boy: Start applying the mixture, about 2 inches away from the scalp and continue down to the ends of you hair, you wanna keep it away from the scalp because the heat from your heat from your head will lift the color faster

Step 5. Almost finished: About 10 minutes before your hair has lifted the the desired color, apply the bleach mixture close to the scalp, be warned this will sting a bit, now just wait for your hair to lift to the shade of your liking.

Step 6: Wash that gorgeous hair: Wash the bleach out well, your hair will be fairly fragile at this point, so make sure to use a gentle shampoo, and deep conditioner, my favorites are Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair shampoo and conditioner, after a few deep conditioning treatments, your hair will be good as new

Step 7: Work it girl: That's right get out there and show off your bombshell bleach blonde hair

Weight Loss

Since January of 2010 I've been working on getting myself into shape, I wasn't feeling at my best emotionally around that time and there was just a lot of negative things that were going on in my life. I was severely overweight and i knew that, that negatively effected the way i saw myself, so here we are now about a year and a half later... where am I in my weight loss you might wonder... I'll let you know in a future post, along with how I got there and how it's changed my life  :) Stay wonderful Darlings!

What am I listening to?

If you read my about me, you probably already know that the majority of the music i listen to is metal and punk, but those aren't the only things i listen to, to get a peek into my musical world I'll be posting some songs that I'm currently loving, hope you enjoy

The Cranberries: Put Me Down

I love the cranberries, Dolores O'Riordan has such a chilling voice, this song is a nice change from the music i usually listen to.

Megadeth: Symphony of Destruction

What can i say about this song, its perfection and i really can't stop listening to, Love, Love, Love

Deal of the week: Bath and Body Works!

I must confess I have a weird obsession, I cant help but love... mini sized products! How dare they look so darn adorable! So you could only imagine my excitment when I saw that my beloved Bath and Body Works was having a sale on some of their travel sized products!

They knew I couldnt resist!

This may sound like i'm a huge tightwad, but to me $10 is a lot to shell out for something so frivolous, but with summer here and lots of trips planned, I want to smell amazing everywhere I go, so I caved and had to get some. They had a really great selection of scents in all of their shower gels, lotions, and body mist. So if your a sucker for mini sized products like me, this is definitely a sale you dont want to pass up!
